What I'm Listening To Today
Hi. My name is Kylee, and I'm an addict. (Hi Kylee) I cannot stop listening to Lady Gaga's Poker Face. I've listened to probably EVERY version on YouTube. So I am going to share with you a few of my favorites.
And, because I've been watching Chelsea Lately ALL the days of my life, enjoy!
What...a whirlwind!

Stop it storm!
I have a few videoes for you to watch. One of them is being completely serious. The other is a parody.
You guys, these people are really serious about what they're saying. And that really scares me.
Here is a parody made by a few celebrities. It's people like this that make my heart smile. : )

What I'm Listening To Today
I'm getting an early start! : ) That's mostly because I've had in mind what I wanted to put on here since the beginning of the week!
My pick this week is called Waiting by City and Colour. Yeah, I don't know why the spell it with a 'u' either, but whatever. This song and pretty much this whole album reminds me of last summer. I have my sister to thank for this. This song is WAY emo, I do realize that. But I think it's a pretty powerful song with some way good lyrics.
Guess what? I'm throwing in a bonus. Here is Dallas Green (of Alexisonfire and City and Colour) covering Neil Young's Cowgirl in the Sand.
How are you NOT in love with this song?

What I'm Listening To Today
Did you miss me? I thought not : )
Today I thought I'd do another sort of theme. I'm going with slow songs, sad and sappy alike, that are on the playlist I fall asleep to.
Who loves the movie La Bamba? I do. A lot. I remember watching it when I was little and ALL of the music on the soundtrack reminds me of being in East Carbon in the summertime. Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny will always spark up those memories. It's such a pretty song. The guitar literally sounds like it's crying. There've been covers/adaptions by some of my favorite bands like The Deftones(so way good!!), Modest Mouse, and My Morning Jacket. I suggest you check out these other versions as well. My sister requests that this be played at her funeral and I will do my best to honor that wish.
This is a song my buddy Isaac introduced me to last summer. It's called Leave by Glen Hansard. Or Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. Or the Swell Season. Whatever. It's an awesome song with a lot of emotion.
Note: There is a cover on youtube of this by a guy with the screen name of anaker00. LISTEN TO IT.
Speaking of Glen...haha ok, not funny? I had to! Ahem, this next song is called Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller. This song is ABSOLUTELY beautiful. Such a relaxing and to me, melencholy song. If I close my eyes I can see young men being called to WWII (Glenn Miller actually died in the service), hugging their sweethearts goodbye one last time, and heading off to fight for their country. Cheesy? YES! But it's a romantic thought, don't you think? Listen to this song, think about it, and get back to me. Oh, also, I request that this be played at my funeral. Oh, and pps, check out Santo and Johnny's version of this!
Next up is Neon Bible by the Arcade Fire. I actually have all of my Arcade Fire albums on my sleeping playlist. Because how could you not? This reminds me of when Manda and I first started sleeping in the same bed. We used to listen to a lot of these guys, The Good Life, and Bright Eyes. Good times : ) She gets credit for this one for sure!
My next pick is on the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies, Blow. Which would explain the video. Remember Nikka Costa? Her song 'Like A Feather' was used in some kind of a commercial. Killer beat. Anyway, I never heard anything else from her and actually didn't even know she was the one singing Push and Pull on the end credits of Blow until about a year later.
Here is a live version of my next pick. I don't have to say anything at all for it. Here it is. Absolutely breath taking, in my opinion. Radiohead-Idioteque
I can remember the first time I heard my last song for today. I was in photography in high school and had my friends headphones on. This song SO explained how I was feeling at the time. (hurt myself again today and the worst part is there is no one else to blame...high school girls are so dramatic, right? ha!) I'm definitly not lost like I was back then, but I still appreciate good music! Here is Sia-Breathe Me.
There it is, hope you all enjoyed! : )
