Yes, I am blogging. Wow. Because I finally have my own laptop! I feel like such a grown up ; ) I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Mine was great, as usual. I love spending time with my family. I've got exciting stuff coming up in the new year as well. Manda and I are celebrating the anniversary of our first date in the first week of January. It's also Manda's birthday at the beginning of February. And then my sister's birthday in the middle. Also, I'm planning another trip to Oregon this June. I absolutely fell in love with Pacific City last September and I can't wait to go again! Of course there's lots of birthdays and fun stuff in between!
I've been listening to a lot of new music lately and I'd like to share some!
A little bit ago, I went to see Minus the Bear at In The Venue. They were amazing, as per usual! : ) But I got quite the treat. As Tall As Lions opened up for them and let me just tell you what. I heard them once or twice in high school and I never really got into them. They just weren't my thing. Well I saw them live and they are A-MA-ZING! I really enjoyed them. Here is one of my favorite songs from them.
Also, for Christmas, I got Team Sleep's CD. So way good! I grew up loving Deftones. Something about Chino's voice is soothing to me. So of course, I love this side project. Here's a little gem.
The last song I'd like to share is from an EP I bought of iTunes on Christmas Day. I had heard Bon Iver before and even had the pleasure of seeing them at the Gallivan Center this summer. I have not heard one song that I haven't loved. This song is dominating for me right now : )
Also, please enjoy this cover!
This post is just a lot of things thrown together. But, there will be more coherent blogs coming soon!! : )

Maybe I'll blog today.
Oh life. Why are you so repetitive? Haha. I don't really mind it, other than there is nothing much to write about. I work, I go home hang out with my girlfriend, and on the weekends I hang out with my friends. I am working on a post about my Labor Day vacation to Pacific City, but it's taking awhile. Work has been crazy busy and I'm always too tired, so it's coming, slowly but surely. Today I wanted to share some music. It doesn't follow so much with my normal picks but here are a few songs I LOVE.
I absolutely love the song "Down" by Jay Sean. Well guess what? J.R. Aquino does it better. I'm sorry Jay Sean. Maybe that's not right to say. He just does it different. I love love love this.
This song is super bubblegum, light, and fun. But I also really like some of the more...serious lyrics I guess. "I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly..." This song reminds me of Death Cab/Postal Service had a baby with like...3OH!3 or something.
I mentioned before that I was writing a post about Oregon. Well you should know that these 2 songs have a lot to do with that trip. No explination is needed, please just enjoy.
Mother Lover-Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake

What I'm Listening to Today
I first heard this band a few weeks ago and I won't lie, it took me a minute to get into them. But I'm glad I gave them a chance. They have played at a ton of music festivals including the 2008 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago and the 2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival. They also opened up for Radiohead on the second leg of their North American tour of summer 2008. I think they've got a pretty unique sound and I hope you enjoy!

What I'm Listening To Today
My pick for today comes from the band Murder By Death. A buddy of mine put them on my ipod but I never really listened to them. Until this week. And now, I can't get enough. They remind me of something that I can't quite put my finger on. The most I can come up with is that they remind me of East Carbon. Not very helpful to those of you who have never been there. Or even those of you that have. This song isn't super consistent with their sound, but it's one of my favorites. Hope you like it!

What I'm Listening to Today
I don't know much about this band, other than they are opening up for Incubus tomorrow at Usana. I like what I'm hearing so far.
The Duke Spirit-The Step and The Walk
Oh and if you're not going to Incubus tomorrow...BOO YOU! haha. This will be the the 6th or 7th time I have seen Brandon and the boys live and I am amazed everytime.

What I'm Listening To Today
I love, love, LOVE my pick for this week. They are playing a show tonight at Kilby Court at 7pm. You should go, fo real. I think this song is super sexy!
AND here is what Heather has to say about her pick this week:
So not sure if any of you know but I do have my own blog but to be honest it sucks and I hardly ever post on it. Kylee’s is better so I’ll post on hers on occasion. My pick for this week would’ve been hip hop because Mija has been addicted to it for the last few days. I’m not even sure why but U92 has been playing in my car if I’m not listening to my Ipod but in the words of Kylee “gaaaayyyyyyyyy haha sheesh” so I’m not going with hip hop. But maybe your fingers could accidentally look up Dolla’s “Heartbreak Collision”. Funny thing about it is a couple months ago my mom came walking in all serious and says “Dolla was killed last night” with a heartbroken look on her face. She’s obsessed with celebrity news and whatnot and thought I knew who he was. My mom is more with it than me when it comes to useless gossip. She even says cray cray ok? I’m just sayin’. Ahem, back to business. A song I’ve been obsessed with for the last couple weeks is by Calexico/Iron & Wine and it’s called “He lays in the reins”. It’s very relaxing, country-esque, and has a dude singing en espanol. What more could you want from a song? Also I’d like to mention that Iron & Wine will be playing at the Twilight Concert Series at the Gallivan Center on August 20th. Sadly I’m sure it’ll be so packed that you won’t actually SEE them but hearing them should do. Hope you like. :)
ok Heather, here is your Dolla. Haha holla fo a Dolla!
and here is "He Lays in the Reins"

Oh sheesh.
Well I haven't posted in a while, kinda because I'm lazy, kinda because I'm busy, and kinda because I didn't wanna! Today is going to be a jumble of things.
Summer has officially started and I am already having so much fun. Our pool opened on Memorial Day and we have basically been there everyday since. Goooood times. Pride is this weekend and I am super excited! I am finally 21, surrounded by a good solid group of friends, and ready to paint the town rainbow! Not only that, but I feel that equality is coming, I see it and feel it all around me. Yesterday, New Hampshire became the 6th state to legalize gay marriage. Yeah yeah, 6 down, 44 to go, but it's progress!! I really feel like Pride this year is going to be amazing! Friday we are going to the white party at the Paper Moon. I've always heard so much about it and I am SO excited to be going finally. No Sound this year, thank Buddah. Sometimes I just can't handle it! Saturday I'm not sure what we're doing but no matter what, I know I'll be with my baby girl and that's most important! Sunday is the parade and I think it'll be the best one yet! Obviously Manda and I will be there with our gays but we've got a bunch of straight supporters coming out this year too, including Heather, Jaymee (and Gianna) and Jes! I am SO excited about that. Also, I may or may not be in a rainbow toga. Look out for pictures!
Also coming up is Manda and my 1 year official anniversary. Holy shit. This has been one of the greatest years of my life and the 6 months leading up to it were amazing as well! I am very lucky to have found someone as compassionate as her. She moves me, she inspires me, and she constantly keeps a smile on my face. I am always happy with her. And that is an amazing feeling. She truly makes me proud and no doubt I will be keeping that in mind this weekend.
So I will leave you with a few songs I've been listening to a lot lately. I hope you enjoy : )
City And Colour-Hello, I'm in Delaware. I want to throw Dallas Green in the air and punch him, that's how much I love him. He's a very talented musician and I can't stop listening!
Manchester Orchestra-Wolves at Night. I LOVE this song so much. I really dig this band. Andy Hull sounds a lot like Brian Molko of Placebo to me, maybe that's what first caught my attention. But I really like their sound and am enjoying finding my favorites!
Kings of Leon-Revelry. This song is seriously SO amazing. KOL are one of my favorites of all time and I just cannot say enough about this song. It's so soothing and beautiful and has some GREAT lyrics. If you haven't put Only By The Night on your iPod, it's high time you do so.
Coheed and Cambria-God Send Conspirator. This one is not new by any means, it's been my favorite song by Coheed for years. I'm finally getting back into reading the Armory Wars and trying to understand the story that Claudio is trying to tell so I've been listening to them a lot more. And by the way, the Neverender concert series was AMAZING and I believe the DVD is available for purchase on Amazon...just sayin ; ) P.S. am I the only one that loves when Claudio pulls his hair back?! <3

What I'm Listening To Today
Hi. My name is Kylee, and I'm an addict. (Hi Kylee) I cannot stop listening to Lady Gaga's Poker Face. I've listened to probably EVERY version on YouTube. So I am going to share with you a few of my favorites.
And, because I've been watching Chelsea Lately ALL the days of my life, enjoy!
What...a whirlwind!

Stop it storm!
I have a few videoes for you to watch. One of them is being completely serious. The other is a parody.
You guys, these people are really serious about what they're saying. And that really scares me.
Here is a parody made by a few celebrities. It's people like this that make my heart smile. : )

What I'm Listening To Today
I'm getting an early start! : ) That's mostly because I've had in mind what I wanted to put on here since the beginning of the week!
My pick this week is called Waiting by City and Colour. Yeah, I don't know why the spell it with a 'u' either, but whatever. This song and pretty much this whole album reminds me of last summer. I have my sister to thank for this. This song is WAY emo, I do realize that. But I think it's a pretty powerful song with some way good lyrics.
Guess what? I'm throwing in a bonus. Here is Dallas Green (of Alexisonfire and City and Colour) covering Neil Young's Cowgirl in the Sand.
How are you NOT in love with this song?

What I'm Listening To Today
Did you miss me? I thought not : )
Today I thought I'd do another sort of theme. I'm going with slow songs, sad and sappy alike, that are on the playlist I fall asleep to.
Who loves the movie La Bamba? I do. A lot. I remember watching it when I was little and ALL of the music on the soundtrack reminds me of being in East Carbon in the summertime. Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny will always spark up those memories. It's such a pretty song. The guitar literally sounds like it's crying. There've been covers/adaptions by some of my favorite bands like The Deftones(so way good!!), Modest Mouse, and My Morning Jacket. I suggest you check out these other versions as well. My sister requests that this be played at her funeral and I will do my best to honor that wish.
This is a song my buddy Isaac introduced me to last summer. It's called Leave by Glen Hansard. Or Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. Or the Swell Season. Whatever. It's an awesome song with a lot of emotion.
Note: There is a cover on youtube of this by a guy with the screen name of anaker00. LISTEN TO IT.
Speaking of Glen...haha ok, not funny? I had to! Ahem, this next song is called Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller. This song is ABSOLUTELY beautiful. Such a relaxing and to me, melencholy song. If I close my eyes I can see young men being called to WWII (Glenn Miller actually died in the service), hugging their sweethearts goodbye one last time, and heading off to fight for their country. Cheesy? YES! But it's a romantic thought, don't you think? Listen to this song, think about it, and get back to me. Oh, also, I request that this be played at my funeral. Oh, and pps, check out Santo and Johnny's version of this!
Next up is Neon Bible by the Arcade Fire. I actually have all of my Arcade Fire albums on my sleeping playlist. Because how could you not? This reminds me of when Manda and I first started sleeping in the same bed. We used to listen to a lot of these guys, The Good Life, and Bright Eyes. Good times : ) She gets credit for this one for sure!
My next pick is on the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies, Blow. Which would explain the video. Remember Nikka Costa? Her song 'Like A Feather' was used in some kind of a commercial. Killer beat. Anyway, I never heard anything else from her and actually didn't even know she was the one singing Push and Pull on the end credits of Blow until about a year later.
Here is a live version of my next pick. I don't have to say anything at all for it. Here it is. Absolutely breath taking, in my opinion. Radiohead-Idioteque
I can remember the first time I heard my last song for today. I was in photography in high school and had my friends headphones on. This song SO explained how I was feeling at the time. (hurt myself again today and the worst part is there is no one else to blame...high school girls are so dramatic, right? ha!) I'm definitly not lost like I was back then, but I still appreciate good music! Here is Sia-Breathe Me.
There it is, hope you all enjoyed! : )

There are a few reasons I should quit reading Perez Hilton's blog. Here's one.
The other day I was trying to take a nap and wasn't having much luck. When I finally dozed off, I had this doosy of a dream:
I was driving in a red pick up truck with Nick Lache. We were driving past Miley Cyrus' farm in Tennessee. All of a sudden, I tucked and rolled out of the truck. I was looking for something, but wasn't really sure what. In a crop of wheat I found what I had been looking for! Nick Jonas' blackberry!! HA! I was so excited because this meant I could finally get Taylor Swift's number for an autograph. I started emailing all the hot gossip blogs bragging about stumbling across my treasure. Miley went on the Oprah show begging whoever had it to return it because she really didn't want to have to buy him a new one and she felt responsible. (Because what's $300 bucks to her?!) I started going through the pictures and videos and I found a TON of porn. Like, a ridiculous amount. So I called Perez Hilton and told him I would be emailing all the juicy details.
When I started waking up, still in a haze, I kind of expected to hear it start ringing and answer to Miley begging me to give it back. Haha! Help my life.

What I'm Listening To Today
Oh what a 2 weeks it's been! I don't know if I've blogged about this damn diet I'm on, but FML, ok? Alright, alright I exaggerate, it's not THAT bad. Just no alcohol or normal decent food for a month and 3 weeks. HA! But the good news is that it's working. I have lost 13 pounds in 11 days and Manda has lost even more than that! We also went to the gym at our apartment complex last night which is something we both agree should be an everyday (or every other day) thing! Summer '09 bring it on because we're going to be ready! : )
So while I was at the gym last night, I discovered a little gem on my iPod. I've seen it peeking out a few times, popping up on my shuffle every now and again. But last night I heard 2 songs in a row from Dead Poetic, so I decided to investigate further. The first song and my pick for today is called Copy of a Copy from their album Vices. It caught my attention because in the song the lead singer sounds A LOT like Maynard Keenan. I got a little worried. Did I have Tool or APC on my iPod that I was not aware of? No. I did not. So here it is, Dead Poetic-Cop of a Copy. Hope you enjoy!
Have a good weekend, I'll be back next week!!

What I'm Listening to Today
Hey hey hey. Today I thought I'd go with a sort of theme. And I've chosen classic rock. Because my iPod has been posing as the Arrow today and has been playing all sorts of Zeppelin, Beatles, and Stones. I am going to pick 5 of my favorite songs by 5 bands.
The Rolling Stones-Beast of Burden. I heart this song. I remember being little and my mom would put this on and I had NO IDEA what the words were or what they meant, but my favorite part was when Mick Jagger repeats "pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty girlsss" haha.
The Beatles-You Never Give Me Your Money. I was never a big Beatles fan, until about a year and a half ago. I mean, I listened to them on occasion, but never bought an album or anything. Just listened to the radio and whatnot. But then I met my girlfriend and that changed. She's a HUGE Beatles fan so naturally I got more into them. This is one of my very favorite songs by them.
Creedence Clearwater Revival-Long As I Can See The Light. I cannot even begin to explain how much this band reminds me of my Grandpa Weed. This is SUCH an emotional song for me. Nothing like a warm summer day camping, a cold beer, and some CCR. Oh month of June, come a little sooner! Anyone up for another trip to Strawberry? ; )
Pink Floyd-Learning to Fly. This is probably my favorite SINGULAR Floyd song. (Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Meddle are 1 song each to me ; )) Not much has to be said for Pink Floyd, or to explain why this is one of my favorite songs. Ok and don't judge the video. I love Pink Floyd and I love Harry Potter. What other choice did I have? ; )
Led Zeppelin-Goin' To California. When I was little little, my favorite Led Zeppelin song was Black Dog. And I was convinced there would never be another. Then, in about 2nd grade or so Fool in the Rain took it's place and I thought that would stay for the rest of my life. Well guess what? It didn't. Because as I got older, this song seemed to mean more to me. So I just can't have a favorite. Those 3 rank among the top, but I can't pick just one. This is such a pretty song. And c'mon, I'm basically positive that Robert Plant's voice was stolen from an angel! ; )
There you have it folks! Hope you enjoyed!!

What I'm Listening to Today
*cringe* I know, I missed last Friday. It's fine : ) I had much more important things going on. Such as....MOVING!! Manda and I finally got our own place. We're still putting everything together, but it's coming along quite well : ) Jude likes it a lot, especially the part where he gets to chase the ducks. Ha!
So my pick for this Tuesday, masking as Friday, is from a band called Eye Alaska. My sister is OBSSESSED and I gotta say I can see why. They are in the studio right now recording their full length debut album, but their debut EP called Yellow and Elephants has been out since June. Check them out!

What I'm Listening to Today
Happy Friday! I've been slacking for the last few weeks, my bad!
So lets get to it. This week I've been listening to all kinds of random stuff. So I'll probably pick a few, since my sister did as well.
Who even likes American Idol? I do not. BUT, I watched the Salt Lake auditions like I do every season. Because maybe I'll see someone I know. Well this year I did, kinda. And she made it to the top 9! Her name is Megan Joy. I met her at a Halloween party and she was dressed as Kat Von D and told us the story of the fairy tale tattoo on her arm. That was the only time I ever met her, so at first I couldn't quite figure out where I'd seen her, but then Gene reminded me. So I kinda followed her up until Tuesday when she was kicked off. I'm glad she didn't win. Because I don't want her to be pigeon-holed to being the winner of American Idol. She's got amazing talent and I think she could do some really awesome stuff. So here is Megan Joy singing Patsy Cline's Walkin After Midnight, one of my favorite songs EVER.
Megan Joy Corkrey-Walkin After Midnight
I love love love Minus the Bear. And I think anyone would have a hard time arguing with the fact that this is an amazing song.
Minus The Bear- Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse
This song is by Death Cab for Cutie. I saw them when they came with Tegan and Sara (or rather when T&S came with them) and eventhough I didn't see the whole show, that's when I realized that these guys are some serious performers! Especially the bass player, he dances so crazy! I love the bass intro to this song, I love the lyrics, the message, the feeling, I love everything about it!
Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Possess Your Heart (Live In Studio)
Ok, I'm done now. Heather, take it away!
Hello Kylee lovers. It’s the big sister because it’s Friday and I don’t want to work. As long as I’m typing though, it looks like I’m still working so bare with me. Much like my emotions, I’ve been listening to a cluster of different stuff so I actually have a song for five different genres.
Country- Lady Antebellum- I Run To You
This is such a cute song and I think it goes well with these trying economic times. Roaring twenties anyone? (That was for Reggie. Haha.) If you like country, check out this whole album. It’s cute.
Emo- Spill Canvas- Self-conclusion
I haven’t listened to these guys for a good year or so but for some reason, I haven’t been able to stop listening to this song. Maybe because I play the story out in my head. I don’t know but I like it. And maybe I wish someone would jump off a cliff. What?
(Kylee says: random video I know, but I thought it was fun! haha)
Oldies- Sam Cooke- Frankie & Johnny- So the story in this song is pretty messed up but if I ever get my hot body I’m striving for and the tattoos I want, I’m trying out to be a Slippery Kitten and my audition dance will be to this song. And if I make it, this will be my debut dance too. Ha.
Pop- Varsity Fanclub- Future Love- Because there is just something about a future love. I think about it everyday.
So there you go. A blog full of music! This should last me for the next month or so, but don't worry, I'll be back next week : ) Wanna be a guest? You know the drill! Email me at kybeetigerface@hotmail.com

What I'm Listening To Today...and other stuff
Spoon=good times. : )
So this weekend was quite eventful. I went to Wendover with a bunch of the family on Saturday and had a blast! I missed my girl very very much. Pictures will be coming soon!
Today I've got to go clean out my car. It ended up being totaled so I have to say goodbye today. I feel pretty ok with that, I never had very good luck with that car. A bit stressed about what I'm going to do in the mean time, but I'll figure it out. Anyone have a car just laying around I could take off your hands? ; )
Here's another song I've been listening to a lot lately. HATE the original, love this version.

Lucky.
Yes I know, I missed my Friday post. In my defense, I've had one hell of a week. I promise by the end of this post you will know what I've been listening to lately.
Today is St. Patrick's day. There is lots of talk about green beer, luck, being Irish, whiskey, you know, the ush. I really enjoy this holiday. Green is my favorite color and I love being drunk. What's not to like!? : )
But today, I really feel lucky. As I said earlier, I've had a hell of a week. I don't want to get into it. I just want to say that I am the luckiest girl alive. I have an amazing girlfriend who is willing to drop anything for me. She would go to the end of the earth and back for me and I know that. I'd never ask her to of course, but that is an amazing feeling. I hope she knows that I would do it for her too. Everyday she shows me how big her heart is and how much I'm really loved. She's always there to comfort me, listen to me, and put shit into perspective if need be. I don't know how the hell I got so lucky with her, but I thank my lucky Charms!
I'd be lost without you
She's also got amazing parents who have been SO great to me over the last year and especially this last week. I see where she gets it. Her whole family is amazing. Thank god that I have my own family as well. I don't know what I'd do without my sister! Nothing more even needs to be said! My cousin Jaymee is always there for me to talk to, even if we haven't talked for a few weeks. She's always got great advice and always makes me feel better. And my friends. My wonderful, beautiful, amazing friends. I don't know where I'd be without their love and support. So thanks guys. I really appreciate you in my life. You all make me feel lucky.
Thanksgiving is the only holiday that we express what we're "thankful" for. Well today I am lucky that I have so many amazing people in my life.
Who in your life makes you feel lucky? Think about it.
Alright now onto what I've been listening to. I cannot get enough of these guys. They're called Mr. Meeble and this is for sure my favorite song so far. It's called 100 Pills. This video is perfect because the 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet is my favorite movie EVER! Enjoy!

What I'm Listening to Today
Lately I've been going back to my roots. And I've dug up some pretty fun stuff. My pick for today is Digital Bath by the Deftones. These guys are one of my favorite bands of all time and this song is seriously one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time. Whenever I listen to this song I feel like it just washes over me. Enjoy!

Why I have NO business trying to multitask.
Have you seen Step Brothers? The part where the dad takes away the remote and Will Ferrell screams YOU ARE FUCKING HIGH? It's sort of an inside joke between my girlfriend and I. If you haven't seen it, here is a clip of it.
So I went on YouTube to find that video clip and was going to post it on Manda's Facebook. You know, so she could have a laugh. Well guess what? I posted it into a WORK ORDER. On our WORK WEBSITE. AND I CAN'T DELETE IT. So now, everyone in the office can see the video and it says very plainly Step Bros-You're Fucking High.
So I am FREAKING out. I couldn't breathe, I started to hyperventalate a little bit. I knew there was no way for me to delete it. So I sucked it up and went to tell my boss. He could not stop laughing. He was in hysterics! I kept telling him that I was worried about getting fired and that it was an honest mistake. He told me there was no way to delete it but it wasn't too serious because none of our clients or contractors could see it, just the people in our office. So for the next hour or so I checked back every 5 minutes and it was still there. I guess I was hoping that it would magically disappear!
Well I just checked back and it was gone. A few minutes later my boss called and told me that my "little problem" had been taken care of. Phew. No more messing around at work, I'll tell you that much.
Pay attention Kylee! Hahaha.

What I'm Listening to Today
Hey hey hey. Hope everyone has had a fantastic week so far! I've had a very interesting week concerning music. I've finally got a few stations going on Pandora.com and I'm finding all kinds of killer music! So I'm having a hard time deciding what song to pick for this week. So guess what? I'm picking 2. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! ; )
My first pick is called Penelope by Pinback. Whenever I listen to this song I can't get it out of my head! It's quite a calm song with some pretty interesting lyrics. My favorite part of the song is:
It’s depressing me
To see you struggle
I’m treading water with my oars
Glass galeons anchored, oceans floor
I’m diving down with all my gear
In search of treasure, para mi corazon
So here is that song. Enjoy!
My 2nd pick for this week is from Band of Horses. Why I was not introduced to this band earlier is almost a crime. I LOVE them! Ben Bridwell's voice (the lead singer)has been compared to My Morning Jacket singer Jim James, Neil Young, and The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne. Some songs I suggest you check out are Our Swords, The Funeral, and Weed Party. This song is called The Great Salt Lake, so I can imagine you can guess what caught my attention? ; ) Enjoy!
As always, if you have a suggestion for me or want to be a guest, email me at kybeetigerface@hotmail.com.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Best girlfriend ever.
If you're not interested in the sappy details of just how sweet my girlfriend is, I suggest you stop reading. Because she's so sweet, I almost have a cavity.
So Manda and I decided that we would celebrate Valentine's Day this weekend instead of last. We both had more money and it just worked out better. I already knew what my present was, a WII, and I knew that it probably wouldn't be here until Tuesday of Wednesday of this week. On Saturday, I picked her up to go the hotel and check in. She mentioned something about me not going in with her to check in which I thought was strange, but didn't think too much of it. Also, she only had 1 little bag with her and if you know my lover, you know that just doesn't seem right. But again I thought nothing of it and dropped her off at the front door to check in. Then she called me and told me to pull around the other side of the building and she'd come let me in. So we walked up to our room and she opened the door and my eyes immediately teared up. I saw candles EVERYWHERE. My wii was wrapped on the table with a card and more candles. On the bed was a picture frame full of my favorite pictures of us surrounded with even more candles. I was so overwhelmed, in the good way of course! That sneaky little girl had checked into the hotel like 3 hours earlier to get everything ready. It was so nice and I felt so special! We plugged in the wii and got right to it! haha : ) The rest of the night was just as amazing. We had dinner at the Olive Garden, went to the room and took a nap and then at midnight we went swimming! The pool was open 24 hours and we were the only ones in there!
It was the perfect way to spend Valentine's with my sweetheart : )

What I'm Listening To Today
I absolutely love Citizen Cope. You can't even understand. His voice, the beats, his lyrics-all good things. The first song I ever heard by him was a song called "Salvation". Don't listen to that song when you're already having a rough day ok? You'll just end up sobing into a pillow and questioning your whole life. Not that I did that. I'm just saying...Ahem, anyway. Some songs that I highly suggest you check out are Sideways, Back Together, Sun's Gonna Rise, and Let The Drummer Kick. For now, here is my pick for the week, Bullet and a Target. This song has been featured in TV shows such as HBO's Entourage, Sleeper Cell, and Cold Case. It has also gotten some play in a few movies like Alpha Dog, Trust the Man, and 16 Blocks. It's got some pretty serious lyrics with lines like
"People wanna bomb us
More people gotta scatter and run from us
You can blame it on Zeus and Apollo and Adonis"
and a beat that will without a doubt have you bobbing your head. Hope you enjoy!
As usual, if you wanna add what you're listening to for next week, send me an email to kybeetigerface@hotmail.com!
Have a good weekend everyone!

It's good to laugh at yourself
I've been having trouble waking up on time this week. So in order to get my lazy ass out of bed, I set 3 alarms on my phone for this morning. The first 2 just had normal annoying phone tones as the sound and then the last one I put on The Perfect Crime by the Decemberists. It rings pretty loud so I was sure that it would get me out of bed. I also have a playlist that I listen to at night on my ipod that includes that song. I heard the part of the song that is my ringtone going on over and over again. I was thinking that my ipod was skipping! So I woke myself up saying “I know a song that would go SO good with that one, I hope my ipod plays it next.”
And then I laughed for about 10 minutes before I got up. Ha!
And then I laughed for about 10 minutes before I got up. Ha!
I have the best girlfriend ever.
So guess what?
I have a secret.
I'm pretty excited about it.
Wanna know?
MY AWESOME GIRLFRIEND BOUGHT ME A WII FOR VALENTINES DAY!!
We decided to celebrate Valentines this weekend, so we haven't given each other our presents yet. BUT she knows how bad I hate suprises, so the night before last she decided to tell me what she was getting. I am not even kidding, I was like a little 8 year old kid! I was so excited, complete with jumping and shrieking of sorts. It's fine. haha. Well so that is my good news. I am way excited and if you wanna come play wii, come see mii!
Haha oh no, it's starting to take over my everyday life already and I don't even have it yet!

What I'm Listening To Today
Happy Friday and thank Baby Jesus that it's finally here!
My pick for this week is my favorite song by the Silversun Pickups. They busted onto my music scene with "Lazy Eye" and I was hooked. Brian Aubert's vocals mixed with fast guitar riffs and awesome bass lines was more than enough to get my foot tappin'! Ha! This song is called Melatonin. (excuse the video, but youtube wasn't being very nice this morning. If you were bored enough to get through Sin City and actually like it, maybe you'll appreciate it!) Give it a listen and enjoy!
Today my guest is girlfriend. Girlfriend, what do you have to say about your pick for this week?
Recently, I lost a close, dear friend of mine.
I was ijacked. [urban dictionary: 1. ijacked: someone stole your ipod.]
It was a devastating experience but one positive thing has come from the loss of my 8,500 songs. I was forced to find an online source of streaming music that my employer hadn't blocked. I found http://www.myplaylist.biz/ and although it's not the best, it introduced me to my new obsession,
Vampire Weekend. The band is New York based and has dubbed their sound, "Upper West Side Soweto" or Afro-pop, due to their influences by African pop music.
Appearing on their debut album, M79 is beyond a doubt the best song I've heard so far in 2009. I was instantly drawn in with the first cheerful chords and immediately loved the pairing of the harpsichord with the violin. With the clever and catchy lyrics: "While you're waiting like a factory line", and "You walk up the stairs/ See the French kids by the door/Up one more flight/See the Buddha on the second floor" and the upbeat tempo, this song is irresistible. It reminds me of and is comparable to MGMT's Time to Pretend, it is infectious, feel good music that evokes the feeling to get up and dance! Take a listen, I hope you enjoy. Perhaps enough to come with me to see Vampire Weekend on March 31st? : )

Memories of Us?
No, not the Keith Urban song. That song can shove it. Haha.
Think of your favorite memory of you and I. Just one. Post it in a comment!
My favorite memory of myself is that one time that I was watching Ace Ventura and recited the whole thing. Amen. Haha just jokes. Dooooo it.

What I'm Listening To Today
I love this song so much that it's actually what I've been listening to for the last few weeks. Tegan and Sara are one of my favorites! They're both amazing song writers. I've seen them live twice and both times I was very impressed. Also, they're funny. And I love funny. Bring on the funny. This song is called Call It Off and it's from their album The Con.
Here is a cover of this song by Allison Weiss. Check her out at www.allisonw.com
That's all for today! Enjoy and have a good weekend.

My porn joke
Beacuse I think I'm funny. Ha. (Manda is so sick of hearing this that she's going to skip over this post. Sorry babe! Ha.)
Me: I really want you to watch 6 Days and 7 Nights with me. Such a cute movie, I love it.
Manda: 6 Days 7 Nights? What is that, some kind of porn?
Me(without missing a beat): No, if it was a porn it'd be 6 Dicks and 7 Dykes.
Hahaha ok maybe it wasn't that funny. But I enjoyed it. ; )
Happy Monday!

What I'm Listening To Today
This is slowly turning into what Kylee and Heather are listening to today, as Heather is my guest again this week. Stef was SUPPOSED to contribute, but she's too busy listening to Britney Spears to know what is going on around her. Haha here is what Heather says about her pick!
I was going to blog about Bruce Springsteen this week in light of his new album coming out on Tuesday and him performing half-time at the Superbowl this Sunday but to be honest, I haven’t even heard the new album yet. I’ve been listening to most of his older stuff. So, maybe The Boss will be next week(if I’m invited next week ;P). This week, I’ve been listening to Adele’s “Cold Shoulder” quite a bit. I was lucky enough to see her and James Morrison (who is equally amazing) last Friday night and I fell in love. Her whole album is fabulous but this song just sticks and I find myself coming back to it. She is adorable and makes me wish I could sing. Hope you enjoy. And if you are really bored and want to play on YouTube, you should check out the high school band that plays a cover of the song. It’s sweet!
My pick for this week is by the Decemberists. I really love these guys. They come from Portland Oregon with quite an interesting style. Some of their more...for lack of better word...unconventional rock instruments include the hammond organ, the accordion, the melodica, and the stand up string bass. Some of my favorite songs are The Mariner's Revenge, Red Right Ankle, and this song, The Engine Driver.
That's all for today. And as always, if you wanna be a guest next week, email me at kybeetigerface@hotmail.com with your pick of what you are listening to!

What I'm Listening To Today
Today is going to be the best WILTT (I love acronyms) so far! I am asking for 2 guests this week. And they are the 2 people that most influence me as far as music goes. And lets be honest, pretty much a lot of other things in my life. Our first guest is my lovely beautiful girlfriend Manda.
Her pick for the week is a good one! My sister has been saying she would burn us the new Kings of Leon CD for oh, I don't know, 6 billion years!! (just kidding sissy!) and Manda bought it off iTunes the other day. Only By The Night is the 4th full album by Kings of Leon and is one of their best. It's my 2nd favorite followed by an album that I downloaded a few years ago which wasn't even really an album. But it had Molly's Chambers on it and then a few other live songs. Ahem... anyway, off track. haha : ) This song is called Use Somebody and is their 2nd single off this album. It's a great song, so I hope you enjoy!
Our second guest this week is my sister Heather. Here is what she has to say about her pick:
Kylee graciously picked me to be a guest on her “What I’m Listening To” Friday post and I’m stoked. (Secretly I wish I had my own blog but seriously, I do not lead an interesting life nor is anyone interested in what I have to say. I’M not even interested. Ha.) Anyhoo, for those of you who know me well know if I like a song, I tend to listen to it on repeat until me or the people around me are totally sick of the song. Just ask Josh Wells about Ryan Adams’ Wonderwall. Hours ok? Hours. The song I’ve been listening to on repeat for the last three days is Crack The Shutters by Snow Patrol. I haven’t really been a fan of Snow Patrol but this song totally won me over. I love, love, love it. Enjoy. :)
So I guess that just leaves us with my pick for the week. Broken Social Scene will now and forever remind me of this summer. As I said, Manda influences a lot of new music for me, and she totally gets credit for this one! We went to the BSS show this summer and I had a ton of fun! This is most definitely my favorite song by them! The album: You Forgot It In People. The song: Cause=Time
That's all for this week. If you have suggestions for me and want to be a guest, be sure to email me at kybeetigerface@hotmail.com!

Inaguration Day
Jaymee, be quiet, I know that I didn't do a "what I'm listening to today" on Friday. Shhhh I suck but it's fine.
Today though, I want to talk about the Inaguration of President Barack Obama. President Obama. My president. Finally. My mom is addicted to CNN, CSPAN, and MSNBC. So all weekend it's been on and there have been a billion people on TV talking about how they think it's going to go and what they're excited for. I haven't paid any attention until today. Because I wanted today to be special. And so far, it is. I'm only listening to it at work, occasionally toggling over to the live feed on myspace impact. (Sasha and Malia just got there! They're so cute!!) I am SO excited. Barack will be sworn in to office in a half hour. This is such a historical day and I find myself feeling today the same way I felt when they announced that Barack was the new President-Elect. I feel the need to make a difference. I want to be part of the change. The headquarters for Obama's Angels is right here in Salt Lake City, UT and I think today I will go onto their website and find some sort of service that I can be a part of. So many people talk about wanting a change and I really believe that now is our time to take advantage of our resources and make a difference. If everyone did just ONE thing for someone else, donated a can of food or an old sweater, volunteered for an hour...think of the impact that would have on our whole community. Here is a video, for your consideration...
So what is your pledge? My pledge is to cut down on my consumption. I have reusable grocery bags and I will start using them. You can buy them from almost any grocery store for like $2. And if you use them enough, you will be saving MUCH more than that. I will also make an effort to shut off lights if they're not being used and unplug electronics and chargers when they're not being used. I pledge to have a more positive outlook, and hopefully when other people see that, it will change their outlook to a positive one. This is our chance to make a difference. This is our chance to make a positive impact and make OUR America a place that we can all be proud of. (OMG, Barack just got there, people are going NUTS!) I heart the USA and today, my cup runneth over.

World, meet the Cool Cats.
This clip of Scrubs will go down as one of my personal favorites. You kind of have to see the whole episode to fully get it, or at least know a bit of the character's personalities. But either way, this is still amazing. Ha, so here it is. Enjoy. And you're welcome.
Ok so the lead singer's name is Turk. Here is his audition to be in the Cool Cats, earlier in the episode.
Again I say, you're welcome. : )

Aaaand I'm back
Well the past few weeks I got very wrapped up in the holidays and just didn't find much time to blog. Christmas was good. It was nice to have 5 day weekends for the past 2 weeks for sure! New Year's was SO amazing. Amanda and I drove down to Las Vegas and stayed in an awesome hotel just off the strip. We kissed for Salt Lake New Year's and then kissed about 20 times for Vegas New Year's. It was a big drunken party, just the way Vegas should be. I couldn't have asked for a better New Year with a better girl. Hope everyone's holiday was good!
So now let's get to it. What I've been listening to today.
GlassJaw has always been one of my favorite bands. I think they've got a really amazing sound. Since Daryl Palumbo has so many side projects, they don't put out as much music as I'd like to see. Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence was a great debut album. And then came Worship and Tribute. And I didn't even know what to do with myself. It's just a really great album written by a very talented guy and performed by a very talented band. Like I said, Daryl has a lot of side projects (including another of my favorite bands, Head Automatica) and some of the other guys have their own side projects as well. Justin Beck, co-founder of the band has a clothing line. Bassist Manuel Carrero and drummer Durijah Lang are both current members of the band Saves the Day. GlassJaw fans have been waiting for their 3rd album for many years, and I'm still super excited.
With that, I leave you with my pick for today. It's GlassJaw-Must've Run All Day from their 2nd album, Worship and Tribute. This is a video made my someone who is not affiliated with GlassJaw but I still thought it was pretty cool. Hope you like it!
Also, I wanted to try doing something fun. With every "What I'm Listening to Today" post, I'm going to add in what other people are listening to. If you have suggestions, leave them in a comment then check back in a week to see what I have to say about your pick! Today I'm featuring a song that my sister picked the day I started this. It's John Mayer's version of Free Fallin', originally by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. John has got a very bluesy/jazzy voice, so I think he does this cover very well.
